Think You Know Entrepreneurship?    Think Again.

When we think of entrepreneurs, a lot of images come to mind: startups, bold ideas, and late nights. But at its core, entrepreneurship is often simpler than we expect.

It’s about recognizing a need and having the courage to meet it. That’s the spirit behind Vines & Vibes; a networking soiree hosted by Pearson & Partners Korea for entrepreneurs, CEO and like-minded people to connect across industries in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

With wine and a curated selection of charcuterie, fruits, breads, and cheeses, guests engaged in meaningful conversations and built authentic connections that night.

During this event, we also invited attendees to reflect on one thoughtful question:

“What does entrepreneurship mean to you?”

Just like the event itself, every answer was personal and unique. We loved hearing everyone’s take on entrepreneurship. Here’s what it meant to a few of our guests:

For Danila Crescenzi from the Crescenzi Company, entrepreneurship means:
“To understand a need, the reason behind it, seek a solution, and share it.”

Meanwhile, Erika Sfascia from IIC Seoul believes an entrepreneur must:
“See beyond and never give up!”

On the other hand, Evie Kim from Adm described the entrepreneurial experience as a:
“Pandora Box.”

And lastly, Justin Kim, our CEO and Founder of Pearson & Partners Korea, described entrepreneurship as:
“Creating something from your own imagination!”

Each person who joined us that evening brought more than a definition of entrepreneurship; they brought lived experience, values, and perspective. Dania framed it as a process: recognizing a need, understanding its roots, and offering a solution worth sharing. Erika emphasized the mental grit required to keep going, to see beyond obstacles. Evie’s “Pandora’s Box” captured the uncertainty that comes with stepping into the unknown. And Justin reminded us of the imaginative spark at the core of every entrepreneurial journey.

Sanjiv Sonkaria, a Research Professor at Seoul National University, quietly captured the heart of the evening. In a follow-up email, Sanjiv didn’t highlight the pitches or products. Instead, he reflected on the connections; the conversations that stayed with him after the event ended. His only regret was not having more time to speak with everyone. That alone spoke volumes.

Because at its core, entrepreneurship isn’t just about ideas. It’s about the stories exchanged between strangers, the trust built in a moment, and the shared understanding that something meaningful just happened. For one evening in Seoul, we saw what that looks like in action, reminding us why these moments matter.
