On Friday, November 14, 2025, the Pearson & Partners Korea marketing team attended the ECCK Information Session on Women Leadership, held in the Keumsoo Room at The Ambassador Seoul. Organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the event gathered professionals from diplomacy, academia, business, humanitarian work, and international organisations. It was a dynamic and inspiring forum focused on empowering women leaders and fostering meaningful dialogue.

A gathering of inspiring leaders

The centrepiece of the event was a panel of three distinguished speakers whose impactful careers and diverse leadership journeys provided invaluable insight into what it means to be a woman leader today; not only in Korea, but around the world.

H.E. Ms. Nadine Olivieri Lozano
Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Korea
Ambassador Olivieri Lozano shared experiences from a diplomatic career spanning Europe, the Middle East, and North America. From an early role as Attaché at the Swiss Embassy in Austria to her recent post as Ambassador to Iran, her journey illustrated resilience, strategic thinking, and the ability to perform under pressure. Her reflections on balancing leadership with family life, her approach to diplomacy, and the importance of representation in global decision making resonated widely. She emphasised empathy and openness as qualities that strengthen both leadership and international cooperation.

Prof. Hyang-Sook Lee
18th President of Ewha Womans University
President Lee brought an academic perspective, highlighting innovation and inclusivity in research and education. With extensive experience in national research institutions, including the National Research Foundation of Korea, the National Research Council of Science & Technology, and the Institute for Basic Science, she described how policy, science, and academia intersect to shape Korea’s future. Her commitment to empowering women in academia and expanding global collaboration underscored the role universities play in developing the next generation of leaders.

Dr. Emma Campbell
Executive Director, Médecins Sans Frontières Korea
Dr. Campbell offered a moving account of humanitarian fieldwork in Sierra Leone, Eswatini, Lebanon, and Türkiye. Her career across public service and nonprofit leadership highlighted the impact of courage, compassion, and cultural understanding. Her leadership philosophy, shaped by years in conflict-affected areas and global nonprofits, reinforced that effective leadership requires not only strategic decision making but also humanity, connection, and service.

An empowering atmosphere

Beyond the speakers, the event created an energetic and welcoming environment. Attendees from companies, embassies, NGOs, universities, and business communities exchanged perspectives on career development, workplace inclusion, global cooperation, mentorship, and the ongoing challenges women face stepping into leadership roles.

For the Pearson & Partners Korea team, the session was both inspiring and personally meaningful. We met many impressive women contributing significantly in their fields, and their stories highlighted the value of supportive networks and leadership grounded in authenticity and empathy.

What we took away

Several themes stood out and left a lasting impression:

  • Leadership is multidimensional, combining professional expertise with emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and resilience.

  • Representation matters; women leading across diplomacy, academia, business, and humanitarian work bring perspectives that strengthen communities.

  • Shared spaces create change; events like this offer opportunities to listen, connect, encourage, and collaborate.

  • Empowerment grows through community; when women support women, the impact multiplies.

We left the session feeling motivated, encouraged, and grateful for the strong networks forming across Korea’s international and business communities.

Looking ahead

As our team continues to grow and build Pearson & Partners Korea’s presence in the market, we value opportunities that foster dialogue, leadership development, and meaningful relationships. The ECCK Women Leadership Information Session was a timely reminder of the importance of partnership and community in driving progress.

We look forward to staying in touch with the inspiring individuals we met and hope to reconnect with many of them in future ECCK initiatives and other events focused on women’s leadership. Together, we can continue to build environments where women thrive, contribute boldly, and shape lasting change.
